Sara Schell is a VA Disability Attorney at Berry Law, where she focuses her practice on helping Veterans navigate the VA disability system and secure the benefits they have earned. She represents Veterans in disability claims and appeals, working to clarify complex rules and translate each client’s service and medical history into a clear, compelling case for compensation. Sara approaches every matter with careful preparation, attention to detail, and a steady focus on long-term results for the Veterans and families she serves.

She collaborates closely with colleagues across the firm to analyze medical evidence, develop legal strategies, and prepare claims and appeals that fully reflect each Veteran’s service-connected disabilities. Sara’s commitment to Veterans is strongly shaped by her own family’s experience with the VA system. Her mother serves as a VA caretaker for Sara’s great uncle, a Vietnam Veteran who lives with Sara’s parents full time. When her mother first applied for caretaker benefits, the process was difficult and discouraging. Sara helped her navigate the application, denial, and appeal stages until the caretaker stipend was finally approved, allowing her uncle to remain at home with consistent care and support.
Even as an attorney, Sara found the VA process confusing and frustrating, which gives her a personal understanding of what her clients face. That experience informs how she explains the system, sets expectations, and advocates for the Veterans she represents. Sara often thinks of her clients the way she thinks of her great uncle—as regular people who served their country and want to live the rest of their lives as comfortably and peacefully as possible. That perspective guides the empathy, patience, and persistence she brings to each case.
Sara earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Creighton University’s Heider College of Business in 2016. She went on to attend Creighton University School of Law, where she completed both her Juris Doctor (JD) and Master of Science (MS) degrees. Her combined legal and graduate studies provided a strong foundation in analysis, advocacy, and problem-solving, all of which she applies to complex VA disability matters.
Sara is admitted to practice law in Nebraska and Texas. In her work at Berry Law, she focuses on representing Veterans in disability claims and appeals, drawing on her education, training, and personal connection to the VA caretaker experience to help clients navigate a system that can be overwhelming to face alone.
