Find Out If Your VA Hearing Score is Fair
The VA claims process is about getting the compensation and medical treatment you deserve for the disabilities your service caused. If your VA percentage is inaccurate or unfair, your family is missing out on money, medical devices, and treatment that your service and sacrifice earned.
Use our Free VA Hearing Loss Calculator to see what percentage you should really get. It takes less than five minutes, and you don’t need an email to see your results.

The VA’s system for evaluating hearing loss and ringing in the ears (tinnitus) is confusing. It uses tests that don’t look at how your hearing loss affects your daily life. Our tool helps you understand how the VA Appeal Board figures out your percentage, whether you have constant ringing or can’t hear clearly.
The VA uses two official lookup tables under 38 CFR § 4.85:
Converts your puretone average + speech discrimination score into a Roman numeral (I–XI) for each ear. Higher Roman numeral = worse hearing.
Combines the Roman numerals for both ears into a single disability percentage (0–100%).
In rare cases, exceptional hearing loss patterns may qualify for a higher rating under 38 CFR § 4.86. A VA disability attorney can review your records to determine if this applies.
Veterans try for a better percentage not just for themselves, but for the people they care about. A correct evaluation means more than just a check; it means:
