The VA’s Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System will be holding its Veterans’ Freedom Music Festival on June 15, 2013. The event will be held at the VA clinic campus in Lincoln, Nebraska. It will open at 9:00 a.m. and run until 9:00 p.m.
The event is a way for veterans and their families to learn more about the services and benefits offered through the Veterans’ Affairs Administration in Nebraska. It is an event geared towards native Nebraskans and Iowans who have served their country, as well as veterans who have relocated to the midwest.
Those who attend the event will be able to stop by many of the booths staffed with people who can give more information about the services available through the VA. Other organizations, such as colleges and universities, banking institutions and employment service institutions will have booths where veterans (and their families) can gain helpful information.
In addition to being a information fair for veterans, there will be activities for children.
Ultimately, the event is a music festival, and several local bands will be playing throughout the day. Featured artists include Salt Creek Symphony, Switchback, Bolzen Band and Rockerfellers. The Nebraska Army National Guard’s 43rd Army Band will also perform and present alongside a full color guard.
Veterans and their families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating on the Lincoln VA’s front yard where the concert will be held. If you have any questions about the event or the organizations that will be presenting, contact the Nebraska Department of Veterans Affairs.
