Every day feels like Veterans Day at Reis’ Bakery in Omaha, where Navy veteran Aires Reis and his wife, Judy, share their love of pastries while honoring the nation’s heroes. Known for their French-inspired pastries made fresh daily, Reis’ Bakery has quickly become a local favorite since opening last year. From almond croissants to gluten-free options, Reis’ dedication to high-quality baking and deep respect for the military community set this bakery apart.
A Journey from Service to Sweet Success
Reis, who served 18 years in the U.S. Navy, discovered his passion for European pastries during his travels. His focus on authentic flavors over sweetness has shaped his baking style, creating unique treats beloved by customers. After moving to Omaha to be closer to family, Reis and Judy decided to bring their passion to the public, launching Reis’ Bakery and receiving a phenomenal response from the community.
A Corner Honoring Military Service
With respect for veterans at the core of their business, Reis’ Bakery offers daily discounts to active duty and retired military members. Recently, a U.S. Marine veteran gifted the bakery a Purple Heart, completing Reis’ tribute table dedicated to honoring those who have served. For Reis, it was a powerful reminder of the bond shared among veterans.
