FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LINCOLN, NE – The Lincoln Veterans Parade Committee is honored to announce that Wendy Adelson, Gold Star Mother and co-founder of the Cpl. Daegan Page Foundation, will serve as the Grand Marshal for this year’s Veterans Day Parade in Lincoln, Nebraska.Â
Wendy Adelson is the mother of U.S. Marine Cpl. Daegan Page, who made the ultimate sacrifice during the August 2021 suicide bombing at Kabul Airport. Since her son’s passing, Wendy has dedicated herself to honoring his memory and supporting Veterans, service members, and their families through the Cpl. Daegan Page Foundation. The foundation was established to support both past and present service members, the loved ones of those who are gone too soon, and the communities that surround them.Â
“We are privileged to have Wendy Adelson lead our parade this year,” said Antonio Marino, Chair of the Lincoln Veterans Parade Committee. “Her strength, dedication, and commitment to our Veterans embody the spirit of service we aim to celebrate on this important day.”Â
The parade will showcase the foundation’s mission of living life “the Dae way,” inspired by Cpl. Page’s positive approach to challenges and his warrior ethos. This aligns closely with the values upheld by Berry Law, a longtime supporter of Veteran causes and a partner of Mission Service.Â
John Berry, CEO of Berry Law, stated, “Wendy Adelson’s dedication to serving Veterans and their families while leading by example resonates deeply with our Veteran community.”Â
The Lincoln Veterans Parade, set for November 10 at 2 p.m., will feature various Veteran organizations, including the Nebraska National Guard Association and the Nebraska National Guard Museum. The event will also highlight the 50 Mile March initiative, emphasizing the ongoing support for Veterans beyond the parade day.Â
“This parade is not just about honoring our past heroes, but also about supporting our present-day Veterans and their families,” Wendy Adelson commented. “Daegan’s spirit of service and sacrifice will be with us as we march, reminding us of the true cost of freedom.”Â
The Cpl. Daegan Page Foundation will have a booth at the parade, providing information on their programs and upcoming events, including the annual Daegan Page Memorial Ruck. The foundation has already made significant contributions, giving out over $150,000 in support through nonprofit partnerships and Veteran help programs.Â
