Honoring Cpl. Daegan Page: Golf Tournament Raises Funds for Military Services

In Ashland, Nebraska, golfers gathered on September 11th for a special event hosted by Lutheran Family Services to raise money for military services and honor the legacy of Cpl. Daegan Page. The event, held on a significant day in American history, brought together community members, veterans, and supporters to make a difference for those who have served our country.

Supporting Veterans Through Unity and Sport

The golf tournament, an annual fundraiser, serves as a vital source of funding for Lutheran Family Services’ military programs, which provide essential support to veterans across Nebraska. This year, the Cpl. Daegan Page Foundation stepped up as the biggest sponsor, amplifying the event’s impact and honoring Cpl. Page, a Marine who gave his life in service.

Jared Jensen, a Marine Corps Reserve officer, participated in the tournament to honor his fellow Marine, Cpl. Daegan Page. “Being a Marine officer, going back to when Daegan Page was brought back home, it meant a lot to me,” Jensen shared. “When our company said we were golfing in this tournament honoring Daegan and supporting Lutheran Family, I wanted to be a part of it.”

The Impact of Giving Back

Funds raised at the event provide year-round support for Lutheran Family Services’ military services, allowing the nonprofit to expand its programs throughout Nebraska. From mental health support to reintegration programs, the impact of this tournament reaches countless veterans in need.

A Meaningful Date

The event’s timing on September 11th was not lost on attendees, many of whom reflected on the day’s significance. “For those who have been in the service, I think it’s a little extra important,” Jensen remarked. “We want to do something to help those who come back and need support. This is a meaningful way to do that.”

Continued Success and Generosity

Last year, the tournament raised over $100,000, and this year’s event aimed to exceed that milestone. Thanks to sponsors like the Cpl. Daegan Page Foundation and the dedication of participants, the tournament continues to serve as a beacon of hope and support for Nebraska’s veterans.
