I applied 400 different jobs and no one would hire me. And within about three months, I was 75% or 80% disabled. I have ten different, different, disabilities. Plus, I have four different learning disabilities. And I became 100% disabled, and my wife said, you know, it’s not worth it. John Berry and Perry, they’ve been a lifesaver to me.
When I come in, they talk to me. They treat me like a person. They’ve never put me down. They just got me service connected to my left leg, back to the day I got out of the military. That’s 30 years ago. And all my friends said, well, it’s not fair that you got all this money. And I said but look at what they’ve done for me. I mean, that’s huge. No one would ever do that.
And he’s always been so nice to me. I’m sure he’s that way with everyone. But I think as you build relationships with these lawyers and with John, he really, truly, from the heart cares about you. It’s just not… I have friends that are lawyers in other places, but it’s like pulling teeth to go see them. I feel like I’m home when I come here.
He cares about the veteran, and he takes the veteran out of the picture and makes me a person, which is so important to me. I want to be a person, veteran second. Anytime, anywhere I’ve ever been they’ve always protected me.
