Jason Steiner Veteran Journey: From Marine Corps to Building Community with Herostock

Jason Steiner’s Veteran journey is a testament to resilience, purpose, and a commitment to supporting fellow Veterans, first responders, and Gold Star families. After serving in the United States Marine Corps from 1996 to 2000, Jason transitioned into civilian life, where he built a successful business and later founded Herostock, a nonprofit dedicated to creating a sense of community for those who have served.

A Marine Veteran’s Transition to Civilian Life

Stationed at Camp Pendleton, California, during his military service, Jason Steiner learned invaluable lessons about perseverance and purpose. “The biggest thing for me is to keep grinding, never stop, always have a purpose,” he shared. After leaving the military in 2000, Jason relied on his family as his support system while establishing his business. It wasn’t until 2019, when he entered the nonprofit world, that he discovered a family outside his own—a sense of belonging and camaraderie similar to his military days.

Herostock: A Mission to Unite and Empower

Jason Steiner’s Veteran journey took a transformative turn with the creation of Herostock, a nonprofit with a threefold mission:

  1. Building a Community: Herostock brings Veterans, first responders, and Gold Star families together to create a “family outside of their family.”
  2. Showcasing Nonprofits: The organization connects participants with Veteran and first responder nonprofits, showcasing available resources and letting them know they have a place to turn.
  3. Promoting Veteran Talent: Herostock features Veteran bands and singers on stage, helping them grow their brands as a way to give back for their service.

Lessons from the Military Applied to Life

Reflecting on his Marine Corps service, Jason credits the military for teaching him to maintain focus and always have a path. These lessons became the foundation for his success in business and the driving force behind Herostock’s mission to create a support network for others.

A Legacy of Giving Back

Jason Steiner’s Veteran journey exemplifies the importance of service beyond the military. Through Herostock, he ensures that Veterans, first responders, and Gold Star families have a community to lean on and a platform to thrive. “As they’ve given years of life to their service, now it’s time to give back,” Jason said.
