Berry Law recently honored Second Lieutenant Nate Whisler, whose life exemplifies service, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to both country and community during a Mission Service presentation at a Creighton men’s basketball game.Â
Second Lieutenant Nathaniel “Nate” Whisler’s journey of service began in the United States Marine Corps, where he served for 12 years with distinction. From Okinawa, Japan, to strategic missions in Stuttgart, Germany, Nate answered the call of duty with bravery and determination. Rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant, he earned prestigious accolades, including the Navy Commendation Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, both with gold stars, testifying to his excellence and commitment.
Driven by a calling to serve on another front, Nate transitioned to the United States Air Force Reserves, becoming a Chaplain in 2022. In this role, he provides spiritual support and guidance to service members, offering hope and strength to those who protect our nation. His work as a Chaplain reflects his deep compassion and unshakable faith.
When Nate isn’t wearing the uniform of our Armed Forces, he serves his city as an Associate Pastor at Providence Church in Omaha, Nebraska. He is a pillar of his community, working tirelessly to uplift and inspire those around him.
Nate’s incredible journey is not one he’s walked alone. By his side for 12 years is his wife, a steadfast partner and supporter, along with their three children—and soon, a fourth, expected in February. Together, they represent the heart of what it means to serve, sacrifice, and love.
Join us as we show our gratitude for his incredible service to our country, our state, and our community. Nate, thank you for your sacrifice, your leadership, and your unwavering commitment to making the world a better place.
