Berry Law is set to be recognized for its commendable dedication to its active-duty staff members in 2023.
Seth Chambers nominated Berry Law for the Service Member Patriot Award in 2022. This year, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) chose to recognize Berry Law’s dedication to the United States armed forces with this prestigious award.
ESGR’s Patriot Award acknowledges those supervisors who display exceptional compassion for active members of the armed services. The award specifically highlights those professionals who accommodate an active-duty member’s changing schedule with in-house flexibility and generous leaves of absence.
Only active members of the National Guard or Reserve, along with their spouses, may nominate a business for this award. Berry Law thanks Seth Chambers, one of its Veterans Case Managers, for the initial nomination. When asked for a statement on Berry Law’s nomination, Chambers says:
“As I have continued my service in the Marine Corps Reserves, Berry Law has made great efforts to support my double duties. The firm provides me ample military leave each year, so my income is not affected because of my service…[t]he firm also goes to great lengths to recognize not only myself but all the other veterans and reservists we have on staff.”
Chambers goes on to state that Berry Law’s dedication to the National Guard and Reserve becomes most evident in the firm’s consistent inclusion of veterans and service members in its Military Law team.
Chambers specifically highlights CEO John Berry’s leadership and “moral and physical courage” as the backbone of the organization’s extraordinary commitment to its military personnel. As such, it will be Berry who accepts the Patriot Award at Berry Law’s Omaha office later this year.
Berry Law intends to accept the award at their Omaha office March 31, 2023. The firm looks forward to sharing this honor with their community. Members of the Military Law team and the rest of the Berry Law office will continue to put their array of legal services to work for clients in need for years to come.
