The Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring Our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxins Act of 2022, also known as the PACT Act, is a law that directly addresses the impact on Veterans and others who were exposed to environmental toxins, burn pits, radiation, and Agent Orange due to their time in service. The PACT Act also included the Camp Lejeune Justice Act.
The law is named in honor of Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson, an Ohio National Guard service member who died in 2020 due to exposure to toxic chemicals. This original bill was a bipartisan effort to expand VA benefits, coverage, treatments, and resources for sick Veterans and others who were impacted by toxins during their service in the U.S. military. The bill passed Congress on August 2, 2022, and was signed into law on August 10, 2022.
