Husband, Father, Marine Veteran, Cyclist, Long-Distance Runner, Veterans’ Advocate at Berry Law
Kyle Bonnstetter is a dedicated Marine with a love for serving Veterans. After eight years of active duty—including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan—he returned home with a renewed passion for helping Veterans rehabilitate and get the VA disability benefits they deserve. Kyle believes it is an honor to have the opportunity to serve his country’s heroes daily and eagerly looks forward to every opportunity to encourage them and help them return to civilian life with the benefits they earned.
As a Veteran who spent six months on a Navy ship and several more deployed overseas, Kyle relates to his clients on a personal level and wants them to feel assured they can trust him with even the most difficult situations and concerns. He realizes that many of his clients have already endured excruciatingly long battles with the Veterans Affairs system and are reaching out to him with a dwindling sense of hope. He reminds his clients that while no one can change the past, now’s the best time to start a new beginning. He’s resolute in doing whatever possible to win full benefits—and appropriate backpay—for any Veteran whose disability benefits have been wrongfully denied.Schedule a Free Case Evaluation
A Heart for Service
Kyle has always done whatever he can to help other Veterans. When he was afforded the opportunity to help wounded veterans transitioning back into civilian life on active duty, he realized what he wanted to do when he returned home. As a Marine reservist, he served as the District Injured Support Coordinator for the Midwest and served recently retired Veterans by assisting them with resources for their mental health, legal concerns, disability benefits, employment, housing, and any other matter they needed. He’s won several awards for his service, including Good Conduct Awards, Sea Service Exemplary medals, Iraq and Afghanistan Campaign medals, and multiple Certificates of Appreciation while with the Marine Corps Trials over the years.
Kyle is energized by helping others and sees his duty as a Marine as another avenue to honor his country and fellow servicemen. He loves supporting wounded or disabled Veterans and is proud of the friends-for-life that he made while he was the officer in charge of a rehabilitative golf event in Camp Pendleton, CA. After having been deployed 3 times—in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom—Kyle fully understands the need for Veterans to be treated with respect and dignity for their service and welcomes every opportunity to do so for his clients at Berry Law.
Run, Kyle, Run
When Kyle’s not helping other Veterans, he loves to improve himself physically and creatively. On any given day, he can usually be found outside hunting, fishing (or ice fishing), bicycling, or running. He’s a talented long-distance runner and a formidable cyclist; in September 2020, he participated in the Great Cycle Challenge, cycling and impressive 150 miles during the month to raise awareness for children’s cancer. In addition to staying fit, Kyle loves being creative by building or creating things with his hands. He’s a dedicated family man and is thrilled to spend as much time as possible with his beautiful wife, Ashley, and his precious son, Gunnar. No matter what he’s doing, Kyle feels best spending it with people he loves and respects and helping them feel better about the world and their future.
